Alamo Heathrow

Alamo Heathrow - after being charged for damage ALREADY on the car, nearly £900, and completely stonewalled when we submitted our genuine defence, we have STILL received no acknowledgement or receipt for the money they took from us, despite repeated requests. And this is after the young male manager at Alamo Heathrow assured us we would not be charged anything. Fortunately it seems we have a case, and will be pursuing this until they are brought to justice. You can google the relevant organisation to fight your case. And don't allow Alamo Heathrow keep on getting away with this appalling treatment of customers.

Thieves ....

Thieves ..... do not trust!I use hire companies all the time. Returned car with minor scratch and dent - very debatable as if within their fair wear and tear policy - but brushed aside by a young whippersnapper with no sense of customer service. Subsequently charged over £1000 for a job - and I am in the trade - should cost no more than £250.A very untrustworthy outfit - avoid!

Alamo Heathrow - Avoid at all costs

Alamo Heathrow - avoid at all costs. We were given a damaged car, but told this damage was too small to be registered. Upon returning the car, the young manager there told us this was fine, and we would not be charged for the damage, and refunded our deposit. One month later a huge bill for nearly £900 arrived. Our queries were stonewalled, and we were treated appallingly. More customers need to make official complaints to stop this from happening again and again.

Never again

Never again, avoid this company.They have fake conditions on their website and when showed them to the staff they tell me that they are going to find the “right ones” for me.What a a waste of money and time

Gatwick Airport No complaints

No complaints, good car, no hard sell on extra insurance, full to full petrol & rapid return of excess.Alltogether pleasant experience after aggro with previous hirer ( Green ?????? see review!) .On airport , bit of a hike though as North terminal office closed.Would use again.

My overall experience was a good one

My overall experience was a good one. I was surprised to get a much larger car than the one I actually booked, which in itself wasn't a problem for me, but I was taken aback by the fact that they told me it was the only car left available due to my late booking, when in fact I booked the car with over a month in advance.. Aside from that, the service was great, the car rental went smoothly and everything was as expected, so I will definitely rent with Alamo UK in future occasions.

Terrible customer service!!

DON'T USE ALAMO! I booked a car from Alamo Heathrow and they call me an hour before I am supposed to pick up the car and tell me that I might get a manual car even though I booked an automatic. I can't drive manual and I had to shout and negotiate to ensure that I get the car that I BOOKED FOR IN THE FIRST PLACE. Also, the employees at Alamo Heathrow were super rude and inconsiderate considering that they are wrong and completely dismissed my anger and frustration. I would NOT recommend ever renting from them.

Excellent service, booked through WiseCars

Recently booked with WiseCars who use Alamo, we have never used them before but were really impressed with them and would definitely use them again. Not sure why they have such a low score, we borrowed the car in France so not sure which Alamo it technically went through. But it was quick and efficient when we got there, everything explained well. And returning was even better the guy spoke great English and apologised that the internal navigation system wasn't setup in English for us which we never expected anyway. The car was so nice as we only booked a small car, almost brand new, had only done 2000 miles. Would definitely book and use them again.

Friendly and professional service

Giving 5 stars, because I cannot give more!Very friendly and at the same time very professional service from the guys at Alamo Heathrow. They were very welcoming, and they explained everything into detail. In addition, they offered a better car, compared to the one we had booked initially. Their customer service was also exceptionally reliable. Deposit was refunded within 2-3 working days. Would recommend them to anyone and use their services in the future again.

Automatic car. Upgraded for free

We rented an automatic car with them. The pick up was from an Enterprise office.We got upgraded on arrival for free. It was very easy to collect the car and return it. No extra charges and the staff was friendly.

Beware of Alamo Waterloo

An additional day's hire was deducted from the deposit incorrectly. When I made the call to claim the refund they agreed however returned the fund with a shortfall. I have been calling weekly to claim this money back but have yet to receive it. It's not much but the fact is, it's not theirs to keep. If someone keeps money that doesn't belong to them, surely by definition this is an action of stealing therefore theft. I'm resentful of the time that I'm having to spend chasing. It is unacceptable. Shame on you Alamo (Waterloo) branch!
